Description

Lorien Carter is a Professor of Practice at the Brown School. She shared a story on the importance of self-care and mindfulness.

Excerpt:

"Why I Drink"

“I didn’t do this - any of this - alone. I’m grateful for my family and for so many friends who showed up, and keep showing up, in so many ways, none of them small. They helped me pick up the shattered pieces of my unsatisfying life and they’ve helped me transform it into THIS life that I love. I started this by saying that 2013 was not my year. But it turns out, it was my year after all. The me that almost died 11 years ago wouldn’t even recognize the me that I am today."
