2025 In Our Words: Call for Submissions

Our theme for 2025 is "Identity". We are accepting both stories and visual art. Your story or art can explore any aspect of IDENTITY that speaks to you; in essence, interpretation of this theme is open to your perspecitve.

Examples of accepted event submissions include:

  1. a narrative story
  2. poems
  3. songs
  4. original artwork
  5. original photography

All stories and visual art will be reviewed by the event committee and submitters will be notified of decisions regarding presentation. We aim to accept as many stories as possible but will be limited by the length of time available at the event. A story can be in any format - for example, narrative, poem or even song.

Stories should be no more than 1000 words in length. Submissions must not include any identifying information (HIPAA protected) about patients. It is ok to modify names in stories to avoid identification.

All visual art must also not contain HIPAA protected content. For display at the event, artists will need to bring their own easels or other equipment for display, with the exception of sculptures, which could be used as table centerpieces, if small enough.

Deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday, Jan. 24, 2025.
