Notes

In this sixth installment of More Than Meets the IRB, Laura Stark (PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Health, and Society & History at Vanderbilt University) talks with us about her recent research on the variability of IRB decision-making and the concept of trust in the IRB review process. Topics include: Perspectives on investigator “trustworthiness,” observing IRB member expressions of trust or control, and practical approaches to IRB and investigator communication. In this ongoing interaction with Dr. Stark’s research, More Than Meets the IRB continues to look at the intricacies of research ethical review.
