Description

Dr. Arun Chandnani is an Internal Medicine resident. He shared personal artwork, photographs taken after being on call.

"There is a specific kind of restlessness that follows a Long Call shift at the hospital: a blur of exhilaration and exhaustion that lingers after the work. Often, as I begin the long trek to the parking garage, I find myself too restless to simply go home. Instead, I seek out a random stairwell and climb until I reach the top. On the rare, lucky occasions when the roof door is unlocked, I step out into the open air to catch my breath and capture the view. These photos are a quiet archive of those moments - hidden vantage points at Barnes Jewish Hospital that have helped me reflect on my day and feel gratitude for the small, fleeting, beautiful moments in medicine and in life."
